Principle of TFT-LCD Color Display
Color display of TFT-LCD is mainly using the selectively filtering backlight of color filter and additive color model. Firstly, the resulting color is decomposed into three RGB primary colors with different degrees of lightness. Secondly, three primary colors are obtained with color filter selectively filtering of backlight, whose degree of lightness is controlled with deflection of the liquid crystal molecules using TFT pixel electrode and CF common electrode layer. Lastly, the resulting color mixed with RGB primary colors of a certain degree lightness is shown in human eyes.
Color Filter Process Introduction
A photoresist is a light-sensitive material used in several industrial processes, such as semiconductors and lithography process of TFT-LCD panel production lines. Photoresists are classified into two groups: positive resists and negative resists. Positive resist is a type of photoresist in which the portion of the photoresist that is exposed to light becomes soluble to the developer because of cleavage of chemical bonds, which is usually applied in TFT Array process. Negative resist is a type of photoresist in which the portion of the photoresist that is exposed to light becomes insoluble to the developer because of crosslinking of chemical bonds.
